The Chautauqua County Department of Planning and Economic Development is working on a plan to create county-wide greenways and trails as well as to preserve open spaces for recreation, leisure and eco-tourism based economic development.
During the Chautauqua County Comprehensive Plan process, area residents communicated an overwhelming desire to conserve the County’s natural resources and to connect the county’s natural, recreational, and cultural amenities.
The next step in the process is to hear from area tourism businesses and local residents. Public meetings are being held in the following locations:
* Tuesday, September 20, 2011 from 6:30 – 8:30: Dunkirk Clarion Hotel, Lighthouse Ballroom
* Wednesday, September 21, 2011 from 6:30 – 8:30: JCC South, Student Activity Center
