It comes as no surprise that the stunning beauty of the Chautauqua region has served as inspiration for many artists. And while the artist process is often a solitary one, those artists who make their home in the region – the artists of the North Shore Arts Alliance – are offering a public glimpse into that private process when they open up their studios as part of the Chautauqua-Lake Erie Art Trail Open Studio Tour, November 13th from 10 am to 5 pm.
The Chautauqua-Lake Erie Art Trail follows the escarpment in close proximity to Route 20, running through 9 communities from Silver Creek to Sherman. There are 25 artists on the trail, including four Westfield artists: Trenton Lutes, Nancy Houghton Nixon, Al Newman, and Audrey Kay Dowling.
The studio tour is a great way to spend the day exploring the area and meeting the talented artists who call the Chautauqua region home – and Westfield is a perfect mid-way point for a relaxing lunch. Maps and more information are available at www.chautauquaarttrail.com.
