The Cross Roads Market will be open every Saturday from 9 AM to 5 PM starting May 5th and ending December 22nd in 2012. In addition, the market is open on Memorial Day, May 28th, Labor Day, September 3rd and on Black Friday, November 23rd.

Unique and indoors: No matter what the weather, Cross Roads Market is a unique place to shop, eat, and enjoy the beautiful sights of Chautauqua County! The Cross Roads Farm & Craft Market features dozens of individual vendors known for their crafts, artwork, woodwork, imported gifts, specialty supplies, unique collectibles, foodstuffs, candy, coffee, hand-made clothing and home decor, and an eclectic assortment of retail gifts. Westfield Farmers and Artisans’ Market Community Yard Sale

The Westfield Farmers & Artisans’ Market (WFAM) invites the community to participate in a community yard sale on Saturday, June 2 from 9:00 to 2:00 in Moore park, adjacent to the farmers’ market. A participation fee of $5.00 provides the vendor with a 10×10 space and proceeds will benefit the operations fund of the WFAM. Hundreds of shoppers visit the market each Saturday making this an ideal opportunity to turn unused items into dollars.

Pre-registration is not required but those who wish to reserve a spot may send their name, address and phone number via email to westfieldfarmersandartisans@gmail.com or visit us at the Market on opening day, May 26. Payment will be collected and space will be assigned from 8:00 am on the day of the event. The sale will open promptly at 9:00 am. Participants should provide their own tables and chairs. Live animals, plants and food items will not be permitted.

The Village of Westfield will be picking up brush and yard waste according to this 2012 Schedule.

Town and Village of Westfield Residents

The Town of Westfield “2012 Spring Clean-up Day” is scheduled for Saturday, May 5th from 9:00am to 1:00pm at the Westfield Transfer Station (free to Town / Village residents). > More Information

Electronic waste will also be accepted on May 12th from 9:00am to 1:00pm at the Town Barn, 118 Chestnut St. (free to Town / Village residents). > More Information

In addition, tires can be turned in for the following fees on the same date and location as the eWaste recycling.

Up to 19″ (dismounted and not originating from a commercial establishment) – $2.00 each
Large truck tires – $7.50 each
Tractor tires – $20.00

Call to Artists for the 2012 Westfield Poster Competition

A $500 cash award will be awarded to the artist who can best capture the essence of the grape industry in Westfield, New York, in a poster format. The contest is open to all graphic artists, painters, and photographers, and is made possible by generous donations from Welch Foods and the Grower’s Co-operative Grape Juice Company.

This marks the third year that the Westfield Development Corporation has produced a promotional poster in its “Icon” series, depicting unique or recognizable features of Westfield. The prior two editions were by Laurie Herrmann (2010) and Erica Grohol (2011).

YWCA Receives Fitness Center Grant

The YWCA of Westfield has received a grant from Fairpoint Communications, in addition to donations from members, that have allowed upgrades to the fitness center to be completed.

On Thursday, March 22 at 4:30pm, the ribbon will be cut and the “Fairpoint Fitness Center” will be dedicated. Representatives from Fairpoint as well as the YWCA will be on hand. Members and the general public are welcome to attend the ceremony and the reception that will follow.

The grant from Fairpoint and the money raised from members allowed the center to be painted, a new TV installed, some equipment repairs made and new mats and benches purchased.

The center is now open and accessible to members from 5AM – midnight 7 days a week.
