The typical MLS real estate listing is filled with useful information: square footage, number of bedrooms, asking price, etc. For select commercial properties in Westfield, the Westfield Development Corporation (WDC) offers another piece of information that it’s difficult to put a price on: ideas.
Through the WDC’s Property Visioning initiative, the full potential of a listed commercial property is brainstormed and that vision comes to life through artful renderings created by local graphic designer Wendy Gollnitz-Santilli.
The first property to be “visioned” is the Mollard House, located at the high-visibility corner of East Main and Academy Street. The beautiful Italianate design is highlighted in Gollnitz-Santilli’s renderings, which feature prominently on a large sign on the front lawn – under the headline “Oh, the Potential”. From feedback received by local leaders and real estate agents, the initiative seems to be making an impression.
Property visioning is one of several innovative, proactive ventures developed by the WDC to attract new businesses and residents to the Westfield area. Recent branding efforts and a successful Ambassador Program are also positioning Westfield as a great destination for tourists, new residents and business owners.
It was author Robert Collier who said that vision gives you the impulse to make the picture your own. The WDC is finding there’s truth – and action – in that statement.
