"Pick Your Park" Ticket Giveaway to Boost Critical August Donations

Erie, PA – Get ready for some summer fun and help save lives! The Community Blood Bank is thrilled to announce its new "Pick Your Park" promotion, an exciting incentive designed to boost crucial blood donations throughout August. Each week, a lucky blood donor will win a 4-pack of tickets to the regional amusement park of their choice, offering a thrilling reward for a vital act of generosity.

Summer is historically a difficult time for blood centers nationwide, and the CBB is no exception. Vacations, school breaks, and increased outdoor activities often lead to a significant drop in blood donations, even as the demand for blood remains constant.

"The summer months, particularly August, represent a critical period for our blood supply," said Megan Solensky, Community Relations Specialist at the Community Blood Bank. "Many people are out enjoying the nice weather and their summer plans, which is great. But we ask you to also remember the patients in our local hospitals still need blood transfusions.” CBB invites community members to roll up their sleeves and give at the following blood drive:

The "Pick Your Park" ticket giveaway aims to bring some excitement and urgency into summer donations. Every individual who donates blood with the Community Blood Bank during the month of August will be automatically entered into a weekly drawing. Four lucky winners – one each week – will receive a 4-pack of tickets to their preferred amusement park.

"We hope this fun incentive will remind our community that while summer is a time for relaxation, it's also a time to remember those in need," added Solensky. "Donating blood takes a relatively small amount of time, but it has an immeasurable impact, potentially saving up to three lives with a single donation."
